The fact that John Wesley made this translation does not imply that it is a better translation than the Authorized King James Version. Mr. Wesley faithfully used the Authorized Version in his preaching and teaching, although at times he did offer his translation of some passages for the sake of clarity. In fact, you will notice that Mr. Wesley's translation reads very much the same as the Authorized Version.

It is not uncommon for people that have studied New Testament Greek to make their own translations of passages or books of the New Testament. You will notice some interesting choices of words Mr. Wesley used in some passages to make the text more understandable for English speakers in 1755 a.d..
