LESSON 9

 

   

In this lesson we will go into detail about the church that Jesus began to build while He was here on this earth. In this lesson we want to get a brief introduction which, we trust, will give you a desire to study more on your own.

 

1. Jesus did build a church that cannot be destroyed.

 

Matthew 16:18. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build ____________________; and the gates of hell shall not ____________________________.

 

2. The church was shown in action on the Day of Pentecost and 3,000 were added to the church.

 

Acts 2:41. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and _____________________ there were added unto them about _______________________________________.

 

3. Acts 2:47. Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord _____________ daily __________________________________________________.

 

4. The church is called the body of Christ over which He is the head.

 

Ephesians 1: 22 and 23. And hath put all things under His feet, which gave Him to be ____________ over all things to ________________________. Which is _________________, the fullness of _________________ that filleth all in all.

 

5. Jesus is the door to the church and we can enter only through the new birth, salvation.

 

John 10:9a. I am ______________________: by Me if any man _____________________, he shall be saved.

 

6. The church is also called the kingdom and Jesus is coming some day to take His church to heaven.

 

1 Thessalonians 4:17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be _____________________ together with them ___________________, to meet the Lord _________________________: and so shall we ________________ with ___________________.

 

7. The name Jesus gave to His church. This does not mean a denomination called by that name.
