LESSON 3

It does matter what we believe. There is one faith as indicated in Jude 3b which says, It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. This tells us three things: (1) “the faith” means one faith; (2) “once delivered” means that it has not changed; and (3) “unto the saints” means that it was given to the people of God, the born-again.

We have also learned from 2 Timothy 3:16 that all Scripture is profitable for doctrine. Doctrine consists of and includes all of the teachings of the Bible but particularly those of the New Testament because we are living under the New Covenant, the will of Jesus Christ.

In this lesson, we will study some Bible verses regarding doctrine. These will show us how important the teachings of Jesus Christ, the faith, pure doctrine, are to us. These are just a few of the many that are available for your personal study.

2. Acts 13:12. Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, __________________, and being astonished at ___________________________________________________.

3. Romans 6:17. But god be thanked, that ye ___________ the _____________________, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of ______________ which was ____________________.

4. Ephesians 4:14. That henceforth we be no more _____________, tossed to and fro, and _______________ with every ___________________________, by the ___________________ and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait.
